Sidmouth; Edinburgh Festivals

Thanks to all who came to hear Alasdair Roberts play and sing with Alastair Caplin and Karine Polwart at Sidmouth Folk Week. A great time was had!

The next live appearance is on 21st August at The Spiegeltent as part of Unbound at the Edinburgh Book Festival. It’s a double bill with acclaimed Scottish poet Robin Robertson. Robin will give a reading of his work and Alasdair will play a trio set with Rafe Fitzpatrick and Stevie Jones. The evening will begin with a presentation of a work-in-progress – Robin and Alasdair’s collaborative song cycle about the archipelago of St Kilda, with text by Robin and musical arrangements by Alasdair.

Then on 22nd August, Alasdair will be taking part in a scaled-down reprise of Concerto Caledonia’s Revenge of the Folksingers programme at St Andrew’s and St George’s Church, 13 George Street, Edinburgh (Fringe Venue 111). This event is part of Sound Chamber, an event to shed light on Scotland’s chamber music scene.
